That is what I am dealing with this week.
It has been a week since I've let you into my world. A long week!
I decided that this year was going to be the year to put off the procrastination and let the determination take over. You can see how well that is going! But seriously, it really is going pretty good. First of all my biggest goal was to keep my house sparkly clean and keep the laundry to a minimum. So far so good. I caught up all my laundry last week, I did laundry all day Monday, Tuesday and half of Wednesday but I got it all caught up and put away (yes even put away!). Of course I had to go to the store to buy more hangers because I realized that with ALL the laundry done we didn't have enough hangers for all the clothes! I've done laundry about every other day since then, about two or three loads when done and I've actually kept on top of it. GO ME!
Now, my dad just told me the other day that he didn't understand why a person who stays home ALL day couldn't keep the house sparkly clean. Especially when I could make time to come to his house and clean it every week. Well, little does he know that it is much easier to go to his house which always stays clean and just needs the minimal pick up and major cleaning every so often. And much easier since he gives me money to do it! But, I also got our house sparkly clean about two weeks ago. On Saturday I spent six hours cleaning. Picking up, cleaning rooms, disenfecting bathrooms, disenfecting the kitchen and dining room, sweeping, mopping washing doors, cabinets, walls and whatever else I did. Since then I told myself just a little bit of work a day would keep me from having to clean like that for a long time. Little did I know that that is true! I can't believe the change in the house and myself. It feels sooo good to have a sparkly house. A few pick ups of toys, clothes and such during the day. A load of dishes in the dishwasher a day. One or two loads of laundry a day and everything stays clean. And then I've got the every so often list that I've accomplished every day too. Like cleaning the cat box, dusting, washing cabinets, walls and doors. I've even got the girls dressers and closets cleaned out of clothes that don't fit anymore. Which I'm sure all K's friends appreciate since she is wearing size 8 clothes and was still managing to fit into some size 6 ...wow, bad mom!! So, this is my determination for the year. I am off to a great start and I have to say that it is so much fun to come home to sparkly clean!
NOW, I feel I have to share some truth! Some of my family and friends would say that I've got it easy! Let my tell you why...
My most gracious mother in law didn't know what to get us for Christmas just recently and decided to give us her Sears card and told us to get whatever we wanted. YES, WHATEVER WE WANTED! SO, being the non-shopper of the family I sat my arse at the computer and started looking at sears.com to see what I could find. When I came across the most beatiful gift I could ever get, besides a maid cleaning service.
WHA LA.....

YES the best Christmas gift EVER!!
The I-Robot Scooba - The floor washing model that scrubs my house so I don't have to! She will wash every part of my floor with little effort. She has become one of my greatest friends. Yet still has no name, I am stil thinking of the perfect name. I talk to her, watch her with curios amazement and even bathe her after every dirty job. You may call her a cheater; I call her a friend helping to keep the sparkle in our lives.
